Club d'Elf heads to the Stone Church

May 27, 2010 2:00 AM
If you've seen Boston-based band Club d'Elf perform before, you know what it feels like to have your mind blown and your face pelted by all of the differing elements that fire out of the PA. For a few hours they manage to pull you out of the grind and put you somewhere else entirely. If you haven't heard 'em, don't bother asking any one member of the aforementioned party to describe it for you. They won't be able to.

This is in part due to the fact that, 'd Elf blends such genres as jazz, hip-hop, electronic, world-beat and more. It is also due to the fact that they take new form on a nightly basis with their rotating cast of characters.

Don't miss them when they visit the Stone Church on Saturday, May 29. They've got bandleader Micro (shown in the middle of the photo above) on bass and sintir, Newmarket's own — and world-renowned guitarist David Tronzo, the rippin' Reeves Gabrels (guitarist for David Bowie), as well as an opening set from local group, Captain Future Wizard of Science featuring an amalgamation of curious musical individuals including (the bearded) Andrew and Jonathan May, Bob Beal and Jon Briggs.

In a word — Wow.

Check out www.clubdelf.com and www.thestonechurch.com for information. Tix are $10, show starts at 9 p.m. Get there!
