Club d’Elf will perform in the XII edition of Ecuador Jazz 2016 in Quito on February 12 and 13 in the Teatro México. This marks the first time the band has traveled to South America, with the tour consisting of an ensemble of long-time D’Elf regulars: bassist/leader Mike Rivard, oud player and percussionist Brahim Fribgane, guitarist Randy Roos, keyboardist Paul Schultheis, DJ Mister Rourke and drummer Dean Johnston. Joining a roster of international jazz and world music artists (including friend and frequent collaborator Hassan Hakmoun), the band will take the opportunity to try out new material for its next album, with sessions slated to begin in the Spring. The Spring will also see the release of deluxe, expanded editions of Electric Moroccoland and So Below, with unreleased studio tracks and complete live shows as part of each digital package. A show at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA on February 5 will herald Fribgane’s return to the fold, after a move to New Mexico made his appearances with the band rare.
